Paddlewheel

The iconic paddlewheel vessel Jean Mary will begin her 800-mile voyage to her homeport along Florida’s Forgotten Coast this Spring from Florida’s east coast, stopping first at several coastal Florida towns spreading the word about maritime history. The story of this beautiful 107-foot long historic paddlewheel replica includes a nod to Hollywood – the boat once belonged to actress Debbie Reynolds and was once named one of the country’s top 10 most luxurious houseboats. When she arrives, the Jean Mary will call Apalachicola homeport as she begins a new life with the Apalachicola Maritime Museum (AMM) as a floating maritime museum and upscale cruise vessel, plying the historic Apalachicola River and Bay and educating visitors to the vast resources and history of Florida’s Forgotten Coast.
