Ice Cream Churn-off and Retro Dance Party along the Apalachicola Riverfront this weekend

Come to Historic Apalachicola this Saturday, Aug. 20 for a “cool” street party on Water Street between the Old Ice House and the Historic Bowery. There will also be an old fashioned ice cream making contest and tasting from 5-7pm followed by a tribute to old school tunes from 7-10pm. This weekend's events are part of the month-long Water Street Festival of Ice happening in Apalachicola. The event is a tribute to Dr. John Gorrie, a 19th century Apalachicola physician who is credited with inventing modern refrigeration.
